This was quite a show. If you saw it, or heard about it, or read about it, you know that it was a verbal shoving match and almost became a physical one.

There was no knockout blow. President Obama won on points.

Although as a Democrat I enjoyed it at the time, in retrospect I don’t think that Candy Crowley should have hit Romney with a fact check unless she was also ready to do so to Obama. Maybe she was; I don’t know, but it didn’t happen. I’m not so fervent a partisan as to believe that everything Obama said was the absolute truth.

I’d also like to see a slight change in the format: I’d like the questioners to have an opportunity for follow-up. I suspect that most of them would have liked to say “That wasn’t what I asked, now give us a straight answer!”
